advice did the experienced Dhoni give to young Vaibhav

Chennai Super Kings have had a forgettable 2025. They have also suffered the most defeats in a single season in their franchise’s history so far. The last time Chennai suffered a defeat was against Rajasthan Royals.

In the Chennai vs Rajasthan match, another scene was seen outside of cricket. 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi took to the field against Dhoni (43), the oldest player in the IPL. Vaibhav won the battle on the field. He won the match by scoring the highest number of runs for Rajasthan. He also won the hearts. At the end of the match, when the cricketers of the two teams shook hands, Suryavanshi touched the feet of Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and bowed.

This has filled the hearts of almost everyone. Dhoni, apart from being a senior cricketer, changed the cricket culture of India a lot. Seeing Vaibhav bowing down to such a person, many praised him.

Of course, Dhoni didn’t just accept the honour. He also gave advice to the youngsters. Answering a question from commentator Ian Bishop, he gave the future stars the mantra to become great cricketers.

Asked what his advice is for young batsmen, Dhoni said, “They need to try to be consistent. If they are only looking at a 200+ strike rate, then it becomes difficult to be consistent.”

He added, “They have the ability to hit sixes at any time. Even if expectations increase, they don’t need to put pressure on themselves. They should learn from the senior players and the coaching staff. It is also important to understand the game situation. That is my advice for those who are doing well.”

Chennai Super Kings are currently at the bottom of the points table after losing 10 of their 13 matches. Rajasthan played their last match in this tournament yesterday.
