Suryakumar Yadav dedicated his Player of the Match award to his wife, Devisha Shetty, who is also a professional dance coach. This happened during the post-match presentation of Match 63 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2025. It was Surya’s first Player of the Match award this season.
Due to sudden rain, he stood under an umbrella with Harsha Bhogle during the presentation. Suryakumar also praised his unbeaten 57-run partnership with Naman Dhir, saying it gave Mumbai Indians the boost they needed at the end of their innings.
Suryakumar Yadav shared a heartfelt moment during the post-match ceremony. He said, “It’s been 13 matches, and today my wife reminded me that I’ve won many awards but never the Player of the Match. So, this one is special. This award is for her. She always looks forward to moments like this, and we celebrate them together.”

He added, “From the team’s point of view, this innings was really important. We knew at some point there would be an over where we could score 15 to 20 runs, so the key was to stay patient until then. I also want to mention how Naman came in and gave me a lot of energy — that really helped turn the match in our favor.”
Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a comfortable 59-run win, which confirmed their place in the playoffs. This marks the 11th time that MI has reached the top four in IPL history. On the bowling front, Mitchell Santner was excellent, taking 3 wickets for just 11 runs in his 4 overs. Jasprit Bumrah also performed brilliantly, picking up 3 wickets for only 12 runs in 3.2 overs.
MI’s final league match of IPL 2025 will be against Punjab Kings. This match is set to take place on Monday, May 26, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. If other match results go in their favor, MI still has a shot at finishing in the top two. That would give them a chance to play in Qualifier 1 and increase their chances of making it to the final.
