- Example of caste of the applicant

How to benefit from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Awas Yojana?
Beneficiaries who want to avail the benefits of this scheme should be residents of Gujarat state.
Beneficiaries seeking the benefit of this scheme should belong to socially and educationally backward class, economically backward class, poor family, and nomadic/freed tribes.
Beneficiary must have own raw house.
The house or plot should not be in the name of the beneficiary or any member of his family. If there is a fixed house or plot, such people will not be eligible to avail the benefit of this scheme.
For beneficiaries in village (rural) areas, annual family income of Rs. Should not exceed 1.20 lakhs. If the income is more than that, they will not be eligible to benefit from this scheme.
For beneficiaries in city (urban) areas, the annual family income is Rs. Should not exceed 1.50 lakhs. If the income is more than that, they will not be eligible to benefit from this scheme.
No member of the beneficiary’s family should be a government official.

Main objective of Din Dayal Upadhyaya Awas Yojana
Online application process has been started to get assistance of Rs.1,20,000 for house during this scheme i.e. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Awas Yojana. Currently, the applications are being verified at the Social Welfare Office, and if the application documents are incomplete, they are asked to complete them and send them within 10 days. After verification, spot check is done and list of all valid beneficiaries is sent to Gandhinagar. It involves a targeted draw, after giving first chance to widows and important beneficiaries. Passed beneficiaries will get first Rs. 40,000 installment and as second installment of Rs. 60,000 is due after construction of half the house.
