How to choose a smartphone with a good camera? Here are the main criteria to pay attention to:
Camera resolution. Everything is simple here: the higher the camera resolution, the more detailed and clear photos you can take. We focus on megapixels, the optimal number is 48–50 megapixels.
Diaphragm. It is this that allows you to adjust the amount of light passing through the lens. Calculated in f-numbers. The lower the number, the higher the aperture ratio. The higher the aperture, the higher the quality of the images. For a modern smartphone, f/2.0, f/1.9, f/1.8 are considered good indicators.
Optical zoom. Unlike digital zoom, optical zoom allows you to zoom in without losing image quality. This allows you to take clearer pictures from a distance.
Optical stabilization. This is one of the hallmarks of good smartphone cameras. It is Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that helps cope with camera shake, allowing you to take clearer frames and videos “hand-held”, on the go and with zoom.
CPU. In mobile photography, processor power is extremely important. The speed and accuracy of image processing depends on it. Today, much of the work in creating an image is done by algorithms and neural networks, rather than by the physical components of the camera. Therefore, the newer and more powerful the processor, the better the photos are.
