Mindfulness – the Crux of Well-being

Equitable mindfulness is a broad term that supports social transformation, community activation, social justice, and equity among individuals and communities. IVY Child International is a nonprofit organization that has forayed into developing and supporting mindful systems, institutions, and leaders through intersectional equity.  IVY Child aims to make impactful changes and elevate the communities through well-being programs.  Mindfulness is the crux of well-being and a catalyst of resilience and leadership. 

 

Breathe Together, Breathe for Justice 

 

Breathe Together, breathe for Justice is an annual mindfulness program fostering intergenerational mindfulness practice.  This envisions advancing social justice through 10 minutes of mindfulness every day. Mindfulness and Well-being improve mental health, cognitive function, interpersonal relations, and overall quality of life.  The ‘Breathe together, breathe for justice’ program focuses on building peace and positivity while offering a stronger experience.  Above all, the practice can alleviate stress and distractions among kids and adults alike. 10000 people including children, youth, and adults participated in the programme. 

 

Workforce Development Programmes 

 

With an aim to attain psychological safety, IVY Child International imparts training sessions for professionals.  This leadership program boosts well-being, stress management, morale, engagement, and productivity.  A study by Harward Business Review says that the majority of employees are of the opinion that the wellness program created a positive influence in their lives. The mindfulness activities encompass breathing exercises, guided meditation, movement, reflection, and interactive sessions like group discussions. The target group of this program is health and human service professionals. 

 

Advancing Social Equity Initiative (ASEI) 

 

The Advancing Social Equity Initiative (ASEI) is a community-building program designed to integrate equity into organizations and enhance team capacity and wellbeing to bring positive changes.  This social Equity Training is a six-month program that includes skill development in communication, recognizing and addressing bias, understanding systemic racism, and implementing individual and organizational changes. The staff of non-profit organizations and their leadership are the segments that leverage this training program.
